Sunny Christmas

This year we decided to spend Christmas in Arizona with Nick's sister and her family. Nick's parents were able to come too. We had a great time with them. The cousins played well together and Aliyah put up with being bossed by her cousins some. Sebastian had a wonderful meal for us Christmas day. I was worried that it might be difficult to be away from home for Christmas. I did miss having a tree and opening presents at our house and going to our church, but I realized that being with family is part of what makes the holidays so special.

We all went to the Phoenix zoo. The kids had a great time discovering all the animals. There was a petting zoo and I was surprised by how brave Grace was petting the goats this year.
Trying to get a picture of the Grandpa and Grandma and the grand kids. This was always a challenge since someone was bound to run away, look away or cry.

Nick and his family.

Christmas Eve we went to Marta and Sebastian's church. After church we went out to eat. They girls had a great time playing ring around the rosy together.

Aliyah and Faith playing before the service. It was so much fun to see them play together. Faith and Aliyah were always so excited to see each other and started playing right away.

Flantz Christmas

Since Sam and Sarah and their family were going to Texas for Christmas and were going to Arizona we celebrated Christmas early with my family. The girls had a great time as usual with their cousins. Megan and Samuel are so good at letting Gracie and Faith tag along with them.

Family picture with everyone looking at the camera...not too bad.

The past few years my mom and I have gotten together to make lefse. This year were Abby, Sarah and Megan were able to come too. We had two grills going and made a bunch of lefse. This is the first year I have ever frozen any. Usually we are fighting over how much everyone gets.

The girls had a great time trick or treating this year. We just stopped at a few relatives' houses. That seems to be about all we can get in:) They get plenty of goodies and it usually is past bedtime by the time we get home. Both girls came up with their own costume ideas this year. Grace was a fairy (for the second year in a row) and Faith was a ballerina.

Grace got a fairy book from Papa and Nana and Faith got a ballerina book. Of course they had to look at them right away.

We didn't carve pumpkins this year. They didn't seem to enjoy it too much last year and Nick ended up doing all the carving. So this year I decided to have them color pictures on their pumpkins. They had a great time!

Grace had to dress up as someone from a storybook for her preschool fall party. She went as sister bear from the Berenstain Bears books.

I have taken on many new adventures latey. We recently moved Faith into a toddler bed. She has been enjoying the freedom that comes with being able to crawl in and OUT of her bed. One night I woke up and rolled over and she was very quietly standing right next to my bed staring at me. I am also making a second attempt at potty training. She seem to be doing better with it this time although I seem to be doing a lot more laundry lately.

Nick is still out in the fields finishing up tiling. We are really starting to miss him at home and looking forward all the work being done. Hopefully by the end of this week he will be around more!

Finally a nice picture of Nick and I! Seems we have so many pictures of the kids and so few of us together. This was at my good friends' wedding.

Gracie and her first fish.

Gracie's first day of preschool. She picked out her outfit the first day and wanted to her preschool shirt that they got at registration.

opps...I forogot to rotate this before I downloaded. I'm not too blog savy and can't figure out how to change it now. Reading with Grandma and cousin Aliyah.

Faith's favorite thing to play with at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Everytime we go over there she runs to get these dolls before even saying hi to anyone. Grandma...if you are missing one of these we have it! It went through the wash and I found it in the dryer. Apparently she had put on in her pocket to take home.

The Peters cousins.

After a warm begining to October fall has finally arrived in Minnesota! Nick is busy in the field and the girls and I are trying to keep ourselves busy too. Gracie started preschool two mornings a week and seems to be enjoying it. Faith enjoys the time with mommy while Gracie is at school. In September we joined my family in northern MN at a cabin for a few days. It is the same resort we used to go to with my grandparents. The weather was a little cool, but we were still able to get in some fishing. We recently enjoyed a visit from Marta, Sebastian and Aliyah. The three cousins had fun together. Aliyah and Faith had fun sharing toys and playing together.

Blue Mounds

This past week we went on our first camping trip with my parent's old pop-up camper trailer. The girls were so excited and had a great time. We went to Blue Mounds State Park in Southwestern MN. Grace in the tepee she helped set up at the Jeffers Petroglyphs.

Gracie trying to get Faith to keep up on a hike. Faith wanted to walk on her own, but she would walk for a little, then play with the grass, then stop and look at the ground. We were always trying to get her to keep walking:)

Grace enjoyed sweeping out the camper with the little broom. She thought we should get a little broom like for at home:)

Sprinkler fun.

Faith went through once and then she just wanted to watch. Not a big fan of the sprinkler.

More water fun.
